The Music Is Old But The Equipment Is Brand New

We’ve just moved MusicMaster Oldies to a brand new computer. Many of these great old songs now sound better than they did on the radio back when they were brand new. You would have had to be in the recording studio to hear better clarity and fidelity.

Everything is digital, period, starting with totally uncompressed music files. Most of the songs came directly from the original vinyl via a blue-ray laser turntable. No needles in grooves, just analog laser beams reflecting off the black vinyl surface means no rumble, no mis-tracking, and perfect frequency response. The original recording curve was used to decode the music, regardless of the format used. Most of them are RIAA standard, but many of the European hits used different curves. Here, you hear them all perfectly reproduced and decoded.

The songs are mixed by the audio player that comes with MusicMaster, the world’s finest music scheduling system. The audio is then processed through a software-based Omnia 9 from Telos, then encoded for streaming to your device.

Here’s what the player and audio processor look like:

You can hear MusicMaster Oldies on Live365 and TuneIn, and by using the pop-out player to the left.
